The Manager of Business Applications is responsible for overseeing the strategy,

implementation, and support of enterprise business applications, with a primary focus

on Workday. This role ensures that business systems align with organizational goals,

drive operational efficiency, and deliver a seamless user experience. The manager will

lead a team of analysts and developers, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders,

and serve as a key liaison between IT and business units.


Key Responsibilities:

 Lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of Workday modules

(e.g., HCM, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting).

 Manage the lifecycle of business applications including selection,

implementation, upgrades, integrations, and retirement.

 Partner with HR, Finance, and other departments to understand business needs

and translate them into system solutions.

 Oversee application support, issue resolution, and enhancement requests.

 Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and governance

standards.

 Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to business applications.

 Lead and mentor a team of application analysts and support staff.

 Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to assess system effectiveness and user

satisfaction.

 Stay current with Workday updates and industry best practices.


Leadership & Team Development – Provides direction, coaching, and performance management for the applications team, fostering accountability, skill growth, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Operational Oversight – Oversees day-to-day application management, ensuring stability, timely incident resolution, and adherence to IT governance and change management standards.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment – Partners with business units, IT teams, and vendors to translate business needs into reliable solutions and ensure consistent service delivery.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related

field (Master’s preferred).

 5+ years of experience managing enterprise business applications, with at least 3

years focused on Workday.

 Strong understanding of Workday architecture, reporting, and integration tools

(e.g., EIB, Studio, Prism).

 Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

 Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

 Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.

 Familiarity with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, BI tools) is a plus.


Preferred Certifications:

 Workday Pro or Workday Certified in one or more modules.

 PMP or equivalent project management certification.
